The NWQ Fiduciary Model Portfolio
The NWQ Fiduciary Model Portfolio (FMP) is the policy portfolio that is managed by NWQ’s Investment Committee. Each month strategy allocations and manager selections are made and this model is updated accordingly. The FMP forms the basis from which separate account mandates of $25m or greater, and NWQ’s flagship fund, the NWQ Fiduciary Fund, are constructed. Like all models it is not an actual investment and is hypothetical in nature. However, it reflects the decision making of the Investment Committee over a long period of time.
The principal investment objective of the FMP is to produce attractive positive returns irrespective of market direction. We seek to achieve this through active allocations to selective fund managers that employ a variety of traditional and absolute return strategies, with emphasis placed on managers who demonstrate a rigorous and repeatable investment process that has delivered a strong track record.
The FMP aims to produce returns, after management fees and expenses of RBA Cash Rate + 4.0-5.0% p.a. over rolling five-year periods. Furthermore, it seeks to achieve these returns with a lower level of volatility than the broader Australian stock market over the medium to long term in order to smooth returns for investors.
